After winning the New Zealand Championship title in 2014 the Concept Motorsport team decided it was time for a new challenge and built the first NZV8 TLX Nissan Altima Touring Car. RYCO 24•7 V8 Utes Championship – 2 Rounds in, 2 more to go!

What a start to the RYCO 24•7 NZ V8 Ute Championship Series it has been so far! V8 Utes or Pick Ups has been an exciting motorsport around the globe for the last 12 years, the 13th season is no exception. The RYCO 24•7 NZ V8 Ute season kicked off with 17-car strong field at Pukekohe Park for Round #1 on 29th November - 1st December 2019. Round #2 was no different, with 15-car field at the international track - Hampton Downs Motorsport Park. Of the established drivers, former champions Matt Spratt, Glen Collinson and Paul Manuell were all raring for another win. Manuell was definitely the man to beat winning both Race 1 and Race 3. Second to this was Collinson who raced through the pack to win Race 2. The weekend’s action included practice races on Friday, qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday followed by Race 2 and Race 3 on Sunday. RYCO 24•7 NZ V8 Ute Final Showdown

What an end to the RYCO 24•7 NZ V8 Ute 2019-2020 Championship Series! Paul Manuell has secured the 2019-2020 RYCO 24•7 NZ V8 Ute title after a dramatic day of racing at Hampton Downs on Saturday 19th September. It was a close one – Manuell secured his second V8 ute racing title by just six points from Glen Collinson after a day of drama when he missed the first race, misfired on the second race and was forced to start from the pit lane. “It was close today, really close but the team pulled out all the stops to get me out there and thankfully we got home to the title.” Manuell explained. “We’ve all waited a long time for this final round, and I’d hoped it would be a bit easier, but the racing has been brilliant, and I’m just stoked to win. Hats off to Glen and the others for making it such a thriller,” he said. Matt Spratt won the round on his return to the category with two wins and second place.
